Course Safety
The Forest Adventure course was built by French leading designer of tree top courses. We followed the construction requirement imposed by French Norm AFNOR XP S 52-902 for high rope courses.
The course and operating procedures have been independently inspected by APAVE (specialist engineering and risk management inspectors).
ISA certified arborist, Lucien Wijeadasa provides on-going support and advice with the regards to the health of the trees and the surrounded forest.
Equipment
The safety harness we use has one karabiners that is hooked to the safety line at all times and one track pulley that rolls along to the safety line.
Automatic recoil safety lines allow participants to go up ladders without reconnecting their safety line after each rung. When a participant secures him/herself on the platform, the safety line is pulled down by the next participant and connected to his/her harness before climbing.
The brake system at the end of the each zip line guarantees a soft landing to all participants, whatever their weight. It also ensures that participants are not thrown backwards after landing.
Safety FAQ
Q. Does an instructor accompany me?
A. No. An instructor will not accompany participants around the course. However, you will not be permitted to start the Grand course until you have received full safety training from an instructor. Only once you have demonstrated that you are safe to go will you be allowed to continue around the course independently. Staff patrol the course regularly and are on hand to assist where necessary.
On the Kids course, the children are attached to a continuous safety line and detached only when they have completed the course. In addition, they are being supervised at all time by an instructor.
Q. What if I get stuck?
A. Instructors will come to your assistance and have specialist equipment to lower people safely to the ground where necessary.
Q. What if I fall?
A. Your safety harness will catch you, allowing you to regain your footing and continue.
